Week 4 Recap: NetsGC Slides Heading into THE TURN

NetsGC is nothing if not consistent. The team shot exactly 51% (23-45) from the field and hit at similar marks from beyond the arc (35% and 33%) in both of their week four games. While the team has started the year slowly, going 2-4 before THE TURN Tournament, the lessons being instilled now will serve the team well throughout the year.

Hawks Talon GC 68, NetsGC 54

With iiTzChas back in the starting lineup at small forward, NetsGC raced out to an 18-10 lead after the first-quarter. But Hawks Talon raced back, keyed by a career performance from power forward DatBoyShotz, and won every quarter the rest of the way. NetsGC turned the ball over only eight times against one of the league’s most aggressive defenses. Wavy.zay led the way with 20 points and eight assists, while Shuttles—making his season debut at center—finished one point shy of a double-double.

Celtics Crossover Gaming 65, NetsGC 59

On Thursday night, NetsGC dropped a hard-fought, frenetic game to Celtics Crossover Gaming. The team reinserted Lav into the starting lineup, sliding iiTzChas to power forward, while Shuttles reprised his Wednesday start at center. He responded strongly, stuffing the stat sheet with 10 points, nine boards, and five steals. The team as a whole recorded 11 steals, paced by NateKahl’s six.

On the Horizon

They say that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, but whichever teams wins THE TURN will be bringing home the $180,000 available prize money.  Sitting at 14th in the standings, NetsGC will most likely have a play-in game on May 9 before main bracket play begins. Then, the week after THE TURN, the team will take on fellow expansion squad Lakers Gaming on May 17.
