Week Two Preview – Part Two
March 16, 2023
By Kristian Cuaresma
The first half of Week Two perfectly captured the rollercoaster ride of the NBA 2K League. Superstar rookie Greens averaged 12 points and led NetsGC to a 3-2 victory over Raptors Uprising GC. This was the second time in five days Brooklyn and Toronto went the distance in a five-game series.
The team’s momentum was halted last night when they dropped back-to-back matchups against Lakers Gaming and Pacers Gaming. Brooklyn was in control of the series against Los Angeles after lopsided victories in game three and four. The collapse affected the team’s confidence, and they could not regroup in time before getting swept by Pacers Gaming.
NetsGC has two matchups left before the SLAM OPEN bracket round begins next week.
Expected Lineup (NBL Oz Gaming)
PG: Jyden
Lock: LawRich
Forward: DjayTooCold
The NBA 2K League’s latest expansion team is off to an incredible start with a 4-2 record. While servers can affect a team’s performance during remote play, it is interesting that NBL Oz Gaming are 3-0 when playing on the east server. Former NetsGC point guard Jyden was also named the 2023 season’s first Player of the Week. He has played a key role in the young franchise’s early success.
Expected Lineup (Lakers Gaming)
PG: Ryan1of1
Lock: Krazy
Forward: GreenTooNice
NetsGC was in full control of their best-of-five matchup against Lakers Gaming last night, but the team was unable to finish on a high note. Championship contenders have an ability to close out a series, but NetsGC is still learning how to do so. The first matchup of many between rookie point guards Greens and Ryan1of1 lived up to expectations.
